Afghanistan: 16 die in clashes between militants, army
(MENAFN) An army spokesman in the northern region Mohammad Hanif Rezai declared that clashes between security forces and Taliban militants have 16 people dead from both fighting sides in Qala-e-Zal district of Afghanistan's northern Kunduz province.
The official added that the battle erupted early Thursday and kept going for six hours during which 13 militants have died and 16 more were wounded.
Rezai confirmed that 3 security personnel have died and two more were injured as their vehicle crashed into a mine on the area.
Locals claimed that continuous clashes remain ongoing. €ƒ
