Burkina Faso: 7 policemen die in landmine explosion


(MENAFN) Security sources declared that six policemen have died in an attack deploying an improvised explosive device in northern Burkina Faso, as another one has been killed in an explosion in the country's east.

The attack occurred Friday on a police convoy in the town of Solle near the border with Mali.

A source confirmed: "The leading vehicle ran over a mine and six were killed", as the convoy was targeted and some other officers were wounded.

Another security source added "at least" six officers had been killed in Friday's attack, while a search for the responsible was launched in the area.
