Turkey grants Gambia USD152m vital media tools

(MENAFN) Gambian state TV was announced to be receiving USD152,764 worth of essential media equipment from Turkey.

The donation is to be given to Gambia radio & Television Services (GRTS) while Turkey gets all set for the Organization of Islamic Cooperation summit in 2019.

The move comes while Gambia's GRTS suffers with insufficient cameras, as stated its Director-General Abdou MK Touray during an interview with Anadolu Agency.

GRTS director general stated "these are very essential equipment for our operations as a public broadcaster... This is the second time Turkey makes such donations to GRTS."

Touray added "we now have twelve new cameras... We are lack of cameras and the demand on them has always been high."
