
Afghanistan- 4 civilians killed in Wardak roadside bombing

The victims, residents of Omarkhel village, were returning from hospital at about 1am last night when their vehicle struck the hidden bomb in Khanjan Khel area, a resident Farshad Hamdard, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He said local resident Mohammad Wali had taken his ailing son to the village clinic and came under attack on return. Wali, his son and his two nephews were killed in the blast.
The victims were laid to rest on Friday morning. Hamdard said some Taliban
Participants of the funerals entered a verbal clash with the Taliban over the bombing but the rebels promised to investigate the incident.
The Taliban were of the view that they had already warned people against travelling on the road between 8pm to 4am.
The Narkh district chief, Hazrat Mohammad Haqbin, confirmed the blast and said the bomb had been planted by Taliban insurgents.
