Iraq: IS attack on mosque kills one, injures 3
(MENAFN) Police declared that one person has died and three more were injured after a suspected Islamic State group jihadists attacked people getting out a mosque north of Baghdad.
A police officer confirmed that the attack occurred in the village of Khanouka near Ash-Sharqat, one of the last locations reclaimed by government forces from IS last year, 100 kilometres (62 miles) north of the capital.
The officer added: "The man, aged 80, had just finished praying (and was leaving the mosque) when the jihadists opened fire at him."
"Three other people were wounded in the shooting."
