Iraq: Kurdish parties unveil conditions for backing parliament

(MENAFN) Iraqi Kurdish parties were confirmed to have announced on Tuesday conditions set for endorsing the largest bloc in parliament to establish the new government.

An alliance has been created on Monday between the Coalition for Democracy and Justice (PUK), Gorran Movement, Kurdistan Islamic Group and Kurdistan Islamic Union with 11 seats in the Iraqi parliament.

The alliance was confirmed to be demanding for the completion of official deals to fulfill Kurdish needs in order for the support to be provided.

The condition has been unveiled by Jamal Kojar, a leading member of the alliance and a member of the Kurdistan Islamic Union, during an interview with Anadolu Agency.

Kojar added that the alliance also demands "constitutional entitlements related to article 140, oil, border crossings and salaries of the [Kurdish] Peshmerga forces."
