Al Khaliji donates to Special Needs society


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Al Khalij Commercial Bank (Al Khaliji) recently made a donation to the Qatar Society for Rehabilitation of Special Needs (QSRSN), a local humanitarian organisation that aims to support and develop the skills and capabilities of people with disabilities.
Hamad al-Kubaisi, Group chief human resources and administration officer at Al Khaliji, handed over the donation to Taleb Abdullah Afifah, board member at QSRSN.
Al-Kubaisi said, 'Al Khaliji's initiative comes in line with its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme and commitment towards good citizenship. It's part of Al Khaliji's strategic objectives to extend helping hand to charity organisations such as the Qatar Society for Rehabilitation of Special Needs. We are very proud to support and work closely with this esteemed organisation, to promote non-discrimination, and inclusive growth.
Afifah conveyed the appreciation of QSRSN chairman Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah al-Thani to Al Khaliji for the bank's co-operation with the society to sponsor 'noble causes. He said the target audience will 'enormously benefit from the donation, and will help improve health conditions.
He said the co-operation between the society and Al Khaliji continues 'in the best interest of disabled people, and the bank's donation will be used to purchase medical equipment like electric wheelchairs, electric medical beds, wheelchairs with special specifications for persons with severe movement disabilities, eye glasses, hearing aids, computer devices for people with visual impairments and other related devices.
Al Khaliji said the donation forms part of its continuous efforts to support the community it serves, while committing to its multi-faceted CSR, which contributes to the achievement of the four pillars of the Qatar National Vision 2030, and its emphasis on human and social development.
The bank said it will consistently demonstrate its promise to community development in Qatar, and will continue supporting initiatives and programmes that raise public awareness of important social issues.
