Algeria not to intervene in other countries' internal affairs
(MENAFN) Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdelkader Messahel stated that there was no international and political pressure to get Algeria involved in the war against terrorism in the region.
Messahel told Algerian radio, Thursday, "Algeria is far from these attempts because of its unalterable principle not to intervene in other countries' internal affairs and its firm belief in protecting its own borders."
Messahel stressed, "Algeria's refusal to intervene regional hotbeds does not mean it does not contribute to the fight against terrorism. On the contrary, it has elite troops in Mali and Niger and special counter-terrorism units in these two neighbouring countries, as well providing logistic support and humanitarian aid."
He added: "Algeria is committed to a strong position of non-intervention in other countries" internal affairs."
