Hezbollah official calls for national unity gov't formation


(MENAFN) Sheikh Naim Qassem, the deputy secretary-general of Lebanon"s Hezbollah Islamic Resistance movement, praised the successful holding of parliamentary elections in the country on May 6th and called for a new government to be formed quickly.

"Lebanon managed to hold good parliamentary elections with the best results," the senior Lebanese Shia cleric said, adding, "Because the elections were based upon proportional representation and the outcome indicates the choice of the people."

He continued, "We are calling for the quick formation of a national unity government because it is in the interest of all."
