Kuwait- Paris hosts int'l conf. on Yemen Wed.

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) PARIS, June 26 (KUNA) -- Paris is poised to play host to an international humanitarian conference on Yemen on Wednesday, with the State of Kuwait attending.
The participants will seek to look into the humanitarian situation in Yemen, and to find an end to ongoing fighting in Yemen, the French Foreign Ministry said in a press statement.
The gathering comes at a time when there is a pressing international response to the current major developments in war-hit Yemen, especially in Hodeidah port, the ministry added.
The United Nations (UN) considers the Yemeni conflict one of the most serious crises across the world, given that 8.4 million Yemenis have been suffering from food insecurity, according to the statement.
Wednesday's humanitarian conference on the Yemen crisis takes place while hundreds of thousands of Yemenis risk being trapped in crossfire as fighting escalates in Hodeidah, one of the most densely populated areas of the country. (end) mjz.mt
