Berri: Lebanese government unlikely to emerge soon

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Beirut, June 23 (Petra) –– Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri on Saturday ruled out an imminent announcement of a new government.

"The hope was that a government would see the light yesterday, but it seems that something is not ready yet and the complexity is internal. The solution is with President Michel Aoun and Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri," he said in a press statement.

Hariri said after he paid a visit to Aoun late Saturday that "the issue of forming a government and the size of representation of the various parties in it was discussed, and the hope is that consensus will soon be reached on this matter." SS
