Pompeo, King Abdullah discuss regional stability, economic partnership

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) WASHINGTON, June 22 (KUNA) -- Secretary of State Mike Pompeo had a working lunch with King Abdullah of Jordan Friday, during which they discussed a wide range of shared interests, including regional stability and US-Jordan economic and commercial partnership, State Department announced.
They discussed "their commitment to defeat ISIS, support for lasting and comprehensive peace between Israel and the Palestinians, and ongoing efforts to further strengthen bilateral ties," the announcement said.
Pompeo "underscored US support for Jordan as the King implements critical reforms to promote Jordan's prosperity and self-reliance," the statement said, and the two "reaffirmed their mutual commitment to a strong and long-standing partnership." (end) rm.bs
