Turkey: TIKA head rejects claims on budget size
(MENAFN) Turkey's aid agency head has denied on Wednesday claims on the amount of his agency's budget, affirming that it was merely 3 percent of the claimed number.
"Some circles are claiming that TIKA's budget is $4 billion, or nearly 18.5 billion Turkish liras," stated head of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) Serdar Cam.
Head of the TIKA continued "when we look at the approved budget from the Turkish Parliament, the budget the Treasury allotted to TIKA was 304 million Turkish liras. Meaning $65 million, or only 3 percent of the claimed amount."
Cam added in his post on twitter that the budget of the TIKA is "fruitful" in the way it used.
