Qatar eyes joining NATO
(MENAFN) The authorities of Qatar are striving to join the North Atlantic Alliance (NATO) as a full member of the bloc, Russia-based Izvestia writes.
"Regarding the membership, we are a main ally from outside the NATO ". the ambition is full membership if our partnership with NATO develops and our vision is clear," the agency quoted saying by Qatar's Defense Minister Khalid al Attiyah on Wednesday.
According to him, at the moment Qatar is the most important country in the region in terms of the armament quality.
Earlier the North Atlantic Alliance' seniors announced their intention to build a reserve of 30 thousand troops in case of an attack by Russia.
