Kuwaiti parliament votes to merge budgets of six gov't bodies


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, May 30 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's parliament has approved the final accounts of six government bodies for the fiscal year 2016-2017, while it has also given the thumbs up to combining the state-run institutions' budgets.
In parliament's session on Wednesday, lawmakers voted in favor of joining the budgets of six government bodies including Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), National Fund for Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Development, Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority, Kuwait Fire Service Directorate, Kuwait Credit Bank and the Central Bank of Kuwait.
Meanwhile, as cited in a report issued by a parliamentary committee dealing with government budgets, KUNA's total revenue stood at KD 190,000 (USD 627,000) while expenses totaled KD 15,624,000 (USD 51 million). (pickup previous) ns.fn.nam
