Over 50 foreign ISIS suspects detained in Istanbul


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) At least 51 foreign nationals have been arrested in Istanbul for alleged links to ISIS group, Turkish police sources told Anadolu Agency on Friday.

Anti-terror squads conducted a series of simultaneous raids in 11 districts of the city to apprehend the suspects, who were allegedly plotting terror attacks, according to the source.

The source added that police also seized organizational documents and digital tools linked to ISIS.

Meanwhile, more than 360 undocumented migrants have been held across Turkey, Anadolu Agency reported citing security sources.

The number includes 33 Afghan nationals, including eight children, held in the Van province, said the sources.

In addition to those, 13 Palestinian nationals were held in the Cesme district of Izmir province, while 59 Syrian nationals were held in the Dikili district.

In Aydin, 47 undocumented migrants were held along with six smugglers.

Additionally, border units held 211 undocumented migrants in the northwestern Edirne province during patrols in a number of districts. (QNA)
