Palestinians clash with Israeli forces in Jerusalem
(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Ramallah, May 20 (Petra) -- Fierce clashes erupted between Palestinians and Israeli forces in occupied Jerusalem early Sunday during which the occupation forces fired tear gas against Palestinians after storming a number of neighborhoods in the city, according to a Palestinian source.
The Red Crescent Society (RCS) in Jerusalem said in a statement that Israeli forces imposed strict measures on the city in preparation for the Jewish "Shavuot" holiday.
Israeli forces broke into Al Maqased Charity Hospital near the old city where clashes continued until the late hours of the night, the RCS noted, adding that the occupation troops also stormed the town of Hizma northeast of Jerusalem and used sound bombs and poisonous gas against the Palestinians but no injuries were reported .
