'The ongoing operations are launched in Badghis, Jawzjan, Kunduz, Baghlan, Badakhshan, Nangarhar, Ghazni, Helmand and Farah provinces,' said the ministry spokesman, Mohammad Radmanesh. '36 insurgents have been killed during the past 24 hours,' Radmanesh said Saturday. He added that two soldiers were injured.

Increasing attacks in Uruzgan province have made Kandahar people worried about their security in the past.
The KhasUruzgan district has been reportedly fallen to Taliban, but government officials rejects the reports, saying that the district was under control of security forces.
'KhasUruzgan is under the government control and threats have decreased. Troops in the Chora, Dehrawood and parts of Tarinkot city (provincial capital) have been armed and equipped.
Taliban fighters captured the Farah city Tuesday night in multiple attacks, but security forces recaptured the city the next day.
Defense ministry spokesman said that the security belt around the city was reestablished, after Taliban removed them.
