Egypt, Bahrain reiterate need for boosting Arab solidarity


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO, May 17 (KUNA) -- Egypt's President Abdelfatah Al-Sisi and Bahrain's King Hamad bin Issa on Thursday reiterated, in a phone call, the necessity of enhancing solidarity among Arab countries so as to address growing challenges facing the region.
The call touched upon regional and Arab issues of common concern, and stressed that the Egyptian-Bahraini relations are distinguished, presidential spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi said in a statement.
The two leaders look forward to continuing action to push ahead with bilateral cooperation, he added.
King Hamad congratulated president Al-Sisi on the advent of the holy month of Ramadan, which started Thursday, wishing for many happy returns of this joyous occasion, he noted.
Al-Sisi thanked King Hamad for the call, wishing Bahrain further progress and prosperity, and Arab and Muslim nations further unity, according to the statement. (end) asm.hm
