Saudi King condemns brutal aggression against Palestinians


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) JEDDAH, May 15 (KUNA) -- Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud condemned, in a phone conversation with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, the Israeli brutal repression of unarmed Palestinians which left dozens killed and hundreds others injured.
The king reiterated to the president the kingdom's firm support to Palestinian people to get their legitimate rights in accordance with the UN resolutions and the Arab peace initiative, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported Tuesday.
He stressed the importance of intensifying efforts to stop violence against the Palestinian brothers.
He stated that the kingdom had requested an emergency meeting for Arab foreign ministers to unite efforts and take urgent measures to protect Palestinian people.
The King called on Almighty God to bestow mercy on the martyrs and give solace to their families. He also wished speedy recovery to the injured.
For his part, the Palestinian president thanked King Salman on his noble feelings and expressed his appreciation of the continued support for the Palestinian people by the government and the people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. (end) nh.ibi
