
Qatar- Third International Conference on Social Responsibility begins
DOHA: Under the auspices of Prime Minister and Interior Minister, H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Third International Conference on Social Responsibility organized by Al Faisal Without Borders Foundation kicked off yesterday at Qatar National Convention Center (QNCC).
Under the title of 'Education is social responsibility in light of changes and crises, the aim of the conference is to reach the most important target group in Qatar, namely students, teachers, parents and interested individuals to make them partners in achieving Qatar National Vision 2030.
During the opening speech, Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani, Founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Faisal Without Borders said: 'The Center was keen to invite a group of researchers from different countries to participate in the conference in order to exchange views and expertise. In order to come up with recommendations that contribute to improvement in education and to play an active community role.
Al-Thani, inaugurated the exhibition accompanying the conference, where more than 40 different parties are taking part. The organizing committee of the conference received about 170 research papers from more than 13 Arab and foreign countries. More than 49 research abstracts have been approved, in addition to receiving more than 29 full papers approved for submission to the conference.
During the main session of the conference, which was held under the title 'Education is a societal responsibility in light of changes and crises, Vice President for Student Affairs at Qatar University,Dr Khaled Al Khunji explained that community responsibility is a sense that drives the individual to be active in society.
He noted that this sense comes from a set of values in addition to understanding how the community works, explaining the importance of the future role of education in all economic, social and other fields. Al Khunji also pointed out that Qatar University and its future plan which focus on the expansion of the social and human sciences, which are most relevant to the issues of society
Associate Dean for Academic Affairs assists the Dean in the administration of the College of Arts and Sciences in Qatar University, Dr Abdulnasser Al Yafei, said: 'The University is an academic institution that has shown a high ability to deal with the blockade crisis. This was manifested in its great flexibility to accommodate students who were deprived of completing their studies in the countries of the blockade.
He stressed that the failure of the blockade came as a result of the great loyalty of the Qataris to their country and the leadership, pointing out that this happened when everyone felt the importance of carrying out their roles, pointing out that the society moves from the stage of participation in the failure of the blockade to the perfection that results in creativity and achievement.
