Extremist settlers storm Kifl Haris village to perform rituals

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Ramallah, April 11 (Petra) -- Hundreds of extremist settlers stormed the Palestinian village of Kifl Haris north of Salfit in the occupied West Bank, a Palestinian source said on Wednesday. According to a statement by Salfit municipality, today's storming was carried under heavy Israeli protection to enable settlers perform Talmudic rituals in Islamic sites in the area.

A large number of settlers broke into the village after midnight Saturday and stayed there until dawn, the statement said, adding that Israeli occupation forces stormed the town, placed a curfew, closed shops, and set up makeshift barriers at the crossroads to ensure the safe passage for settlers in order to perform their Talmudic rituals in the holy shrines in the area.
