UK, US, France call for response against alleged chemical attack in Syria

(MENAFN) UK's Prime Minister has the US and France in their call for the international community to stand against the suspected chemical attack in Syria.

Prime Ministers Theresa May has agreed during phone conversations with leaders Donald Trump and Emmanuel Macron in urging for whomever behind the attack to be "held to account".

The separate phone conversations has resulted in the countries settling for a joint response to "uphold the worldwide prohibition on the use of chemical weapons", Downing Street declared.

According to a spokeswoman, the leaders settled that in case the attack was verified, it "represented further evidence of the Assad regime's appalling cruelty against its own people and total disregard for its legal obligations not to use these weapons."
