International conference held at University of Jordan
(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Apr 10 (Petra) –– The fourth international conference organized by the University of Jordan's (UoJ) Faculty of Arts, titled "Contemporary Trends in Human Studies- Experiences and Approaches", kicked off on Tuesday with the participation of local, Arab and foreign researchers and thinkers.
The two-day gathering is meant to add value to a scientific effort by the Faculty of Arts in presenting new insights into the state of creative and critical sciences, and their impact, old and new, within a scientific and objective approach.
UoJ Vice President for Humanitarian Faculties, Ahmad Majdouba, said in opening remarks that the conference is "a remarkable activity by the Faculty of Arts, including lectures, exhibitions and participations by faculty professors teaching in prestigious international universities through the Erasmus+ (EU programme for education, training, youth and sport).
Conference chairman, Dean of Faculty of Arts at UoJ Mohammad Qudah, said the conference aims to achieve a host of objectives, notably highlighting the most important historical and contemporary trends in the humanities, highlighting the impact of scientific efforts in the service of humanities, and the role of universities and leading scientific institutions in the field of scientific and academic research.
In his address on behalf of the participants, Professor Ibrahim Yilmaz of Ataturk University in Turkey, said that the conference's title attests to its content and objectives, noting that the Faculty of Arts is constantly exploring and researching new trends to keep pace with all that is new on the literary and scientific scene.
