UN's envoy to Yemen visits Oman
(MENAFN) The United Nations Special Envoy to Yemen, U.K. barrister Martin Griffiths, believes Oman plays a "pivotal role" in helping the people of Yemen.
Speaking at a press conference at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Griffiths said he was in the country for a series of meetings to discuss the humanitarian situation in Yemen.
He said: "During my visits and meetings to the neighboring countries of Yemen, I have always heard them talking about ways to stabilize the situation, and I am privileged to be hearing the same in the meetings I held with the appointees in Muscat.
"I was informed that Oman is a special neighbor to Yemen as it shares a history of dialogue and openness. I am highly delighted to confirm that it still holds to the same notion which was clearly put forward during the meetings I held with other dignitaries in these two days.
