Jordan to host 6th conference of Arab Union for Electricity in December
AMMAN, 8th April, 2018 (WAM) -- The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan has announced that it will host the 6th Conference of Arab Union for Electricity in December to discuss issues pertaining to the electricity sector in the Arab world, according to a meeting held by the union in Amman last Thursday.
Jordan News Agency, Petra, quoted a statement by the union as saying that the meeting discussed preparations for the conference that will be held with the participation of Arab ministers of electricity and energy, senior officials and directors of electricity institutions from Arab countries.
The meeting also reviewed the activities and accomplishments of the union as well as its future plans and budget.
The Arab Union of Electricity was established in 1987 with the purpose of strengthening ties between members to improve power manufacturing in the Arab World. The union is situated in Amman and consists of 19 countries, including the UAE. It aims at improving and developing the electricity sector in the Arab World, coordinating work fields between members and strengthening relations between them.
