(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Russian-backed militants continue to violate the Easter ceasefire. The aggressor launched 42 attacks on positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) area in Donbas over the past day.

In Donetsk direction, terrorists used 122mm artillery and weapons on infantry combat vehicles to shell Ukrainian positions near Shyrokyne (20km east of Mariupol), 82mm mortars outside Pisky (12km north-west of Donetsk). Illegal armed formations also opened fire from grenade launchers and small arms on the defenders of Vodiane(16km north-west of Donetsk), Lebedynske(16km north-east of Mariupol), Marinka (35 km south-west of Donetsk) and Avdiivka (18km north of Donetsk). Ukrainian positions outside Talakivka(20km north-west of Mariupol) and Hnutove(19km north-west of Mariupol) came under heavy machine gun and small arms fire. The enemy also used small arms near Krasnohorivka (29 km west of Donetsk), Pavlopol(30 km northeast of Mariupol), Butovka coal mine (11.4km north-west of Donetsk), Pisky (12km north-west of Donetsk) and Kamyanka (62km south of Donetsk). Sniper fire was observed near Shyrokyne (20km east of Mariupol).
In Luhansk direction, Russian-backed militants used prohibited 120mm and 82mm mortars, grenade launchers and heavy machine guns to fire at Ukrainian positions near Luhanske (59km north-east of Donetsk). In addition, militants fired 120mm mortars at the defenders of Valuiske(20km north-east of Luhansk), 82mm mortars, weapons on infantry combat vehicles and heavy machine guns Troitske (69km west of Luhansk), 82mm mortars, grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms near Novoluhanske(53km north-east of Donetsk).
As a result of the enemy shelling, two Ukrainian servicemen were wounded.
