UAE participates in IORA workshop
PORT LOUIS, 3rd April, 2018 (WAM) -- The UAE has participated in a workshop to support Institutional Strengthening, organised by the General Secretariat of the Indian Ocean Rim Association, IORA, in Mauritius on 20th and 21st March 2018.
The UAE delegation was led by Saeed Al Shamsi, Deputy Director of the Department of Economic and Commercial Affairs, and included Fatima Al Suwaidi, Head of Finance and Administration at the UAE Embassy in South Africa, Tariq Bawazir, Head of Finance, Administration, Consular Affairs and Citizen Affairs at the UAE Embassy in Mozambique, and Afra Al Muhairi, expert in economic organisation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
During his keynote address at the workshop, Al Shamsi said that cooperation between the Member States and the Secretariat will strengthen international partnerships in the Association and that the interactive dialogue during the workshop will lead to a clearer and more effective communication. It will also bolster ties between Member States and the Secretariat, he added.
He also highlighted the keenness of the UAE as Vice President of the Association to provide the necessary support to the organisation, so as to implement its priorities and achieve its objectives.
