Amman, Apr.2 (Petra) -- Jordanian-Emirati meetings, held in Amman on Monday, focused on ways to enhance cooperation in the field of energy, as both countries are working to diversify their sources of energy through alternative and renewable energy.

The meetings were chaired by Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Saleh Al-Kharabsheh and the UAE Minister of Energy and Industry Suhail Mohammad Al-Mazrouei in the presence of UAE Ambassador to Jordan, Matar Al-Shamsi.

Al-Kharabsheh told Petra that the meetings discussed areas of cooperation in the energy sector, which is an important sector in both countries, and at the same time faces some challenges, pointing to the importance of sharing common expertise in this regard.

He added that the UAE expertise in the field of energy in general and electric power and renewable energy in particular, was reviewed, while the Emirati side was briefed on Jordan achievements in these fields.

In an interview with Petra Al-Mazrouei stressed the importance of the meetings to study the implementation of projects that are a priority for Jordan in the sectors of energy, mining and industries in general.

During the meetings, some projects were proposed by the Jordanian side and will be evaluated through a joint working group, Al-Mazrouei added.
