Panamanian first lady commends Jordan's efforts in helping refugees


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, March 24(Petra)-- The First Lady of Panama, Lorena Castillo de Varela, commended Jordan's efforts in assisting Syrian refugees at the the Za'atari Refugee Camp in Jordan despite economic challenges and shortage of international assistance, calling for supporting Jordan in this regard.

In a lecture at the Jordan Media Institute, Varela stressed the need to realize peace among nations and fight extremism and discrimination, noting her visit to the Za'atri Refugee Camp with HRH Princess Reem Ali.

The Panamanian first lady underlined the importance of knowledge to make progress, especially in the educational and health sectors, noting her country's expertise in this sphere.

She also toured the Institute and checked first-hand at the academic and practical media services offered to students and researchers.
