Oman- Municipality celebrates Arab City Day


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Muscat Municipality celebrated with Arab countries the Arab City Day on March 15, which was held this year under the slogan 'Sustainable cities for the happiness of the inhabitants'.

The day is celebrated to mark the 51st anniversary of Arab Towns Organization (ATO) which was founded in 1967.

Eng Ahmed bin Hamad al Sabeeh, secretary general of ATO, was quoted in a press release as saying, 'We wanted the celebration in Arab cities this year to be qualitatively different from the last 50 years. This is as part of the goals of sustainable development agenda 2030. This year's commemorative slogan revolves around inclusive and sustainable development.'

Khalid bin Muhammad bin Omar Bahram, assistant chairman of Muscat Municipality for the services affairs explained that the municipality enjoys partnership with Arab institutions specialised in the field of municipal employment, most notably ATO, through the exchange of experiences.
