Oman- MoTC completes preparations for operations at new Muscat Airport


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC)on Mondaysaid that it has completed preparations to start operations at new Muscat International Airport fromTuesday.

MoTC said that 45 trial flights were made which saw participation of 25,975 Omani and expatriate volunteers.

During the trial period, more than 1,215 departing or arriving flights were simulated and more than 166,235 luggage were handled. Moreover, more than 4,000 participants took part in more than 100 drills and inspections including emergency drills.

Exercises to ensure integration of the systems at the apron were also carried out.

All the bridges at the airport have been tested and many live demonstrations were carried out in cooperation with the operation readiness team at Oman Airports, ROP, Oman Air and the ground handling company.
