Iraq denies making boarder agreement with Kurdistan
(MENAFN) The agreement between the Iraqi government and the northern Kurdistan Regional Administration (KRG) over demarcating the border between Baghdad and the Kurdish region is no longer valid, the Defence Ministry in the Iraqi capital announced yesterday.
Moreover, it insisted that there is no agreement about returning Kurdish Peshmerga forces to the areas controlled by the federal army.
The ministry announced its statement following local media reports early on Tuesday which claimed that there is such an agreement between Baghdad and Erbil.
The demarcation of an administrative border between the KRG and the federal government was said to be part of the efforts being made to end the military deployment crisis.
