Philippine to leave the ICC over investigation on drugs war

(MENAFN) Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte announced his decision to leave the International Criminal Court (ICC) after opening an investigation into drugs war.

The President stated "it is apparent that the ICC is being utilised as a political tool against the Philippines."

President Duterte also took a hit against the UN, criticizing what he called "baseless" attacks.

It comes after the ICC opening an investigation in February to look into suspected offenses that allegedly took place throughout an operation against drugs.
