Chile to conduct tax reform for tax system

(MENAFN) During the first day in office within the new government, Chile's Finance Minister Felipe Larrain declared a tax reform to be carried out, aimed at making the national tax assessment system more straightforward.

The minister revealed negotiations for the reform to have been in place for a while, with targeting the tax system to become more invested in being user-friendly to civilians.

"We are in a period of tightness, as unquestionably," he stressed before adding that the condition is not the same as eight or four years ago due to levels of public debt.

He continued "what is needed is to begin certain austerity measures, and then see how to reassign resources."
