Turkish plane bursts into flames in Iran


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) TEHRAN, March 11 (KUNA) -- A Turkish private jet flying from the United Arab Emirates to Istanbul has reportedly crashed in a mountainous region of Iran on Sunday, authorities said.

The aircraft burst into fireball near the southwestern city of Shahr-e Kord, semi-official FARS News Agency reported.

The plane took off from Sharjah International Airport en route to Istanbul, but vanished from radar after crossing Iranian airspace, FARS noted.

Shahr-e Kord is some 370 kilometres (230 miles) south of the capital, Tehran. (end) fz.nam
