Kuwait stresses importance of Arab youth media forum


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO, March 10 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Information Minister Mohammad Al-Jabri stressed Saturday the importance of Arab Media Forum for Youth in enhancing the performance of Arab media and journalism.

Al-Jabri made his remarks to KUNA on the sidelines of his participation in the seventh edition of Arab Media Forum for Youth, currently held in Cairo under the auspices of Arab League Secretary General Ahmad Abu Al-Gheit.

Kuwait is keen on taking part in various Arab youth events and activities as part of its faith in the importance of boosting youngsters' role, empowering them and improving their media skills, affirmed the Kuwaiti minister.

He also mentioned his address about media freedom in Kuwait to the participants, in addition to Kuwait's vision in enhancing Arab media knowledge, particularly new and advanced media.

Meanwhile, the participating Kuwaiti delegation at the forum includes a group of young people who aim is to exchange expertise, highlight Kuwaiti media and the developments it has seen in recent years, said Al-Jabri.

He expressed his gratitude to Abu Al-Gheit and Arab Media Forum Secretary General Madhi Al-Khamis for their support of the event, expressing his hope the forum's activities and sessions go on every year.

The two-day forum, tagged "Youth and Future Media", is attended by a number of Arab information ministers, leading media figures and students. (pickup previous) ms.asm.ma
