French Pres. reiterates support to UNRWA
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) PARIS, March 8 (KUNA) -- French President Emmanuel Macaron has confirmed his country's continued support for The UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) to provide its humanitarian services to millions of Palestinian refugees.
Macron discussed with the UNRWA Commissioner-General Pierre Krahenbuhl the financial difficulties facing the Organization and the important undergoing reforms, Elysee Palace said in a statement Thursday.
The two sides called on the international community to intensify efforts to support the organization and enable it to implement programs serving the Palestinian refugees.
Meanwhile, the president reaffirmed France's support to the two-state solution as a basis for realizing peace between the Israelis and the Palestinians. (end) mjz.haq.msa
