Arab interior ministers tackle enhancing joint security cooperation


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, March 6 (Petra)-- Arab interior ministers will meet in Algeria on Wednesday to discuss a number of issues, including enhancing joint Arab security cooperation, Interior Minister Samir Al-Mubaidain said in a statement on Tuesday.

Al-Mubaidain, is leading Jordan's delegation to the 35th session of the "Arab Interior Ministers Council" that will be attended by Arab interior ministers, senior security delegations and representatives of the Arab League, the Arab Maghreb Union, Interpol, UN Office of Counter-Terrorism, Naif Arab University for Security Sciences and Arab Police Sport Federation.

During the meeting, representatives will discuss report submitted by Saudi Interior Minister and President of the Supreme Council of Naif Arab University for Security Sciences, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, on the university's achievements in developing and training the competencies of Arab security personnel, Al-Mubaidain said.

Other issues on the agenda also include discussing a number of drafts including the ninth Arab security plan, a draft of a seventh Arab media plan for security awareness and crime prevention, a draft of a sixth phased plan for Arab traffic safety strategy and a draft of phased plan for the implementation of Arab intellectual security strategy.

The two-day meeting will also tackle a number of annual reports on the implementation of Arab strategies, agreements and security plans as well as the recommendations of joint meetings between representatives of the Arab Ministries of interior and justice.

The Jordanian delegation includes representatives from the departments of public security and civil defense.
