Oman- Iranian airline resumes Muscat flights from Kish after a year


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Iran's Kish Airlines has resumed flying to Muscat from its base in Kish Island from February 28.

Iran's ambassador to Oman, H E Mohammad Reza Noori Shahroudi said that launching flights between Iranian cities, including Kish Island, and Oman will promote tourism in both countries.

Speaking about the resumption of flights in a meeting with a delegation from the Kish Island, H E Shahroudi said that there are numerous potentials in Kish that have not been introduced to foreign tourists, particularly to those from the neighbouring countries.

'Resuming flights to Muscat has been realised as a step towards boosting economic and tourism relations between Iran and Oman,' deputy director of Kish Free Zone and head of managing board of Kish Air Ali-Reza Qaedian told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).
'Kish Air will have round-trip flights to Muscat on Saturdays and Wednesdays,' he said.

The decision is aimed at facilitating visits by tourists and businessperson to Iran, the official said. Noting that foreigners do not need visa for entering Kish Island, he expressed hope that resuming flights to Muscat will provide good opportunity for expanding economic cooperation and lay a ground for increasing Omani tourists to Iran.

Onboard the flight from Kish Island to Muscat were 25 businessperson from the island. They met with Iran's ambassador to Muscat as well as members of Oman's Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Kish-Muscat flights were resumed recently after a one year halt. Oman's budget carrier SalamAir also launched its flights between Muscat and Shiraz recently.
