Jordan- Security foils bid to smuggle half kg of cocaine into Kingdom


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, March 5 (Petra)-The Anti-Narcotics Department ( AND) foiled an attempt to smuggle half a kilogram of cocaine and quantities of narcotic pills into the country en route Queen Alia International Airport, and nabbed the two suspects involved in the smuggling operation.

The AND teams received a tip-off on the drugs smuggling attempt from a neighboring country through the airport, and successfully identified date of the suspect's arrival with the pills shipment, according to a security source.

On the set date, the team apprehended the drugs smuggler concealing the contraband pills in his clothes upon his arrival, and also nabbed his accomplice waiting close to the airport premises, explained the source.

The two suspects were referred to the concerned bodies for further investigation, it added.
