Secret Service: gunman commits suicide outside White House
(MENAFN) The U.S. Secret Service has revealed that right in front of the White House, a man has shot himself dead.
Officers have received calls "of a person who allegedly suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound along the north fence line," leading for the White House to be on lockdown.
The Secret Service issued a statement, confirming "(he) removed a concealed handgun and fired several rounds, none of which appear at this time to have been directed towards the White House."
The statement then assured "the President and First Lady were not in the White House at the time of the incident."
