By Rufiz Hafizoglu – Trend:

EU remains vulnerable without Turkey, the Turkish media quoted Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu as saying March 3.

Cavusoglu added that the opinions that Turkey will become a burden to the EU are false.

'Today, Turkey's economy is much stronger than the economy of a number of EU member states,' he added.

Turkey has fulfilled all 72 commitments for the EU accession, the Turkish Ministry for EU Affairs said earlier.

An association agreement between the EU and Turkey was signed in 1963. Ankara filed an application for membership in the EU in 1987, but accession negotiations were launched in 2005.
