Steve Forbes Applauds Trump Reforms, Blasts Fed

(MENAFNEditorial) Publisher & Media Entrepreneur Analyzes Political, Social & Economic Topics on Leading Podcast Stansberry Investor Hour host Porter Stansberry interviewed media mogul Steve Forbes, who is the CEO of Forbes Media and the editor-in-chief of Forbes Magazine. They discussed why some Americans have lost the passion for free markets, what's happening on college campuses, and the enormous gap between productivity and stagnant wages.

'After one year under President Trump, we've had some real moves on deregulation, whether it's at the Food and Drug Administration, the EPA, education, energy, and we've got a tax bill not perfect by my likes, but a good step in the right direction… good judges being appointed, Forbes said. 'We have to move on these reforms. These upcoming elections in November are going to be so important.

Forbes demystified the real relationship between gold and fiat paper currencies and explained how interest rate manipulation distorts financial markets. He's anti-Fed and wants them out of the country's affairs.

'The quicker the Fed can be pushed to get out of the interest rate game, the better, Forbes said. 'The idea that the Federal Reserve can guide this economy by manipulating the interest rates is so preposterous. Central Planning does not work, whether the Soviet Union, Maoist China, or central banks today. The only question is how much harm they will do.

Forbes touched on the rise of cryptocurrencies as a response to people being fed up by currency manipulation by central banks. He believes once there's stability to cryptos, they will be adopted on a mass scale.

'You would never take on a lease with bitcoin, Forbes said. 'Money was not invented by government. It was invented by people in the marketplace looking for a way to make it easier to buy and sell with each other.

Forbes twice ran as a candidate for the nomination of the Republican Party for President of the United States in the 1996 and 2000 Presidential primaries.
