Oman- ROP news and updates: Two held with over 6.5kg heroin off Shinas coast


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Two citizens have been arrested for possessing and smuggling narcotic and psychotropic substance.

Police found in their possession over 6.5kg of heroin worth RO300,000.

The two were arrested by the North Batinah Police in cooperation with the Directorate General for Combatting Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances.

'The two were caught while trying to smuggle the drugs into the sultanate via sea off Shinas coast. Police seized drugs, two GPS and satellite telephones from them,' said an ROP official.

ROP has asked all citizens and residents to report any information regarding drug trafficking on the hotline number 9999 and help curb such incidents.
