Kuwait relief delegation in Aden to follow up projects in Yemen

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) RIYADH, Feb 27 (KUNA) -- A delegation from Kuwait relief, chaired by Jamal Al-Nouri, chairman of the Executive Committee in Kuwait Relief Society, arrived in Aden on Tuesday to follow up first-hand implementation of Kuwaiti projects in Yemen.

"This visit aims at getting acquainted first-hand with projects executed by Kuwait By Your Side Campaign ... in addition to the humanitarian situation in order to know the basic needs in many Yemeni governorates," Al-Nouri said in a statement, cited by Kuwait-Yemen relief authority.

He said Kuwait has many relief projects in Yemen, with which Kuwait enjoyed "old relations." Dr. Abdullah Lamlass, Yemeni Minister of Education, said the Kuwaitis "have been carrying out humanitarian acts by their own, and this is what makes them special.

"The projects carried out by the State of Kuwait in Yemen are special," said Lamlass, also member of the higher relief committee.

He said the delegation of Kuwait would launch, among other projects, the education channel of the Ministry of Education, which was funded by Kuwait.

The Kuwaiti delegation includes Dr. Mohammad Al-Sharhan, chairman of the Health Committee in Kuwait Relief Society, Jamal Al-Fozan, Mahmoud Al-Mesbah and Ehab Al-Dabbous.

Kuwait By Your Side Campaign is providing funding for many projects in education, health, water, food and shelter. (end) mdm.bs
