Germans promote keeping church bell devoted to Hitler


(MENAFN) People in a small town in southwestern Germany choose to let a church bell devoted to Adolf Hitler ringing, however, to indicate a history of aggression and injustice.

The Herxheim am Berg council reportedly promoted to keep the bell in10-3 vote, the bell reveals the caption "Everything for the Fatherland - Adolf Hitler" above a Nazi swastika, in memory of its opposition church.

The bell, which expanded vastly in the Nazi era but was cleared away after the war, was offered to be changed and financially supported by State church governments.

A study decided to remove it to indicated a "fleeing from an appropriate culture of remembrance", and suggested to put it in a descriptive memorial or place it in a museum.
