Hamas rejects US accusations regarding Gaza humanitarian crisis

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Gaza, Feb. 18 (Petra) -- The Hamas Movement rejected accusations by the White House that it was responsible for the growing humanitarian crisis in the Gaza strip.

In a statement, a copy of which was obtained by Petra, the movement stressed that these accusations represent a green light for Israel to continue its aggressive approach towards the Palestinian people.

Hamas held the "successive U.S. administrations responsible for the tragedies that have plagued the Palestinian people since the beginning of the occupation" due to their political, economic and military support to Israel.

The American diplomatic protection of the Israeli occupation at international institutions through Veto, stood in the way of international powers that were keen to give the unarmed Palestinian people their rights and provide them with protection against killing that has been going for on for more than 70 years, the statement added.

Hamas also held the Israeli occupation responsible for the humanitarian crisis in the strip due to the ongoing blockade.

The movement urged the free world as well as Arab and Islamic world to lift the unjust blockade and end Israeli violations against the Palestinian people.
