5 police killed in Taliban attack on Zabul checkpoint
(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) QALAT (Pajhwok): Five policemen manning a check-post have been killed in a Taliban attack in the capital of southern Zabul province, an official said on Saturday.
A security official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, told Pajhwok Afghan News the militants stormed the check-post in the Mullah Din area of Qalat late on Friday night.
He said five police personnel were killed and their weapons captured by the insurgents.
Police sources, without going into details, said an operation had been launched in the area. The Taliban have not yet commented in this regard.
