Twitter to maintain cooperation with FBI after Russian charges

(MENAFN) Following the indictment of thirteen Russians over creating fake account on Twitter for US 2016 election meddling, Twitter has reaffirmed its determination to keep cooperation with the FBI.

The efforts to exploit Twitter in meddling with the presidential elections are a breach for the company's policy, a spokesperson for Twitter reportedly confirmed.

In his statement, the spokesperson declared "Russian efforts to disrupt the 2016 U.S. election, in part by abusing social media platforms, go against everything we at Twitter believe. Any activity of this kind is intolerable, and we all must do more to prevent it."

The spokesperson continued "we look forward to working with the FBI Task Force to assist companies and the public in identifying foreign manipulation efforts through social media platforms."
